Community Action Plan Highlights

Glenorchy and Innishail Community Action Plan, the result of extensive community consultationand consultations was launched in 2021.

Actions from the plan are being taken forward by the Community Action Group with support from our part- time Development Officer.

Key Priorities

Broadband
Community survey 2021 – findings here: (Report1 pdf attached) (Broadband issues paper attached)
Work with Jenni Minto MSP, Brendan O’Hara MP, Scottish Government R100 team, Openreach to secure fibre connections for all.
Some progress Loch Awe-side and parts of Dalmally. More to be done.
Housing
Funding secured for Community Housing Trust survey to assess need – report here:(attachedGlenorchy and Innishail Housing and Business Needs report)
Proposed new housing development in Dalmally (16 units). Two units are earmarked for community – owned housing (if we can raise the funds!). Bid currently with the Scottish Government Rural Housing fund for £400,000 towards costs.
Paths and Trails
Group busy mapping paths and trails across the area. Funding secured to improve access and install information boards on track to Barr a’ Chasteilean  (the old village).

Youth Action Group
Set up in 2023, the Youth Action Group plan and run a regular programme of activities for young people. Currently supported by a local sessional youth worker, Live Argyll and Active Schools.
Sports Pitch
Funding secured for feasibility study to guide the development of the Dougie Livingstone memorial pitch at Dalmally Community Centre. Work started with consultants Sports Lab and Tri-Sports. More to come
Care in the Community
Small volunteer working group established and initial needs survey and information gathering underway to inform future plans.
